Raastaa is an app for rural Indian youth (ages 12-24 or older). It provides educational, government certification and skill pathways for different career interests. It is accessible on the PlayStore and as a web-app. Raastaa is currently available in English as well as Hindi, and its UI is designed especially keeping the rural youth in mind.

Rural Visits

Raastaa's first introduction was to students was at Law College Deesa in Gujarat. It was enlightening experience, and was our first rural visit. The audience comprised undergraduate students who are pursuing their Bachelor's degree or diploma courses in the streams of Law, Science, Commerce or Arts.

Raastaa was also introduced to over 400 students at the D.J.N. Mehta High School in the village of Juna Deesa in the Banaskantha district of Gujarat. It was both heartening and encouraging to see it well-received. Students of grades 9 and 11 were given a demo of Raastaa and many of them were able to try it out using the school's WiFi network. They were happy to browse the app and look for professions that they would want to pursue. The meeting with the headmaster and members of the staff proved fruitful, as they have promised to use Raastaa to motivate and guide students for their career. We handed out Raastaa flyers and feedback forms to the students. It was great to see the students use the app and recieve valuable input for us to continue development.
